Bahía de Ha-Long

La bahía de Ha-Long es una extensión de agua de aproximadamente 1.500 km. Situada al norte de Vietnam, en la provincia de Quang Ninh, la bahía se extiende a lo largo de una costa de 120 km. Destaca la presencia de elementos kársticos e un total de 1969 islas de varios tamaños y formas. Muchas de las islas son huecas, con enormes cuevas, otras sirven de apoyo a villas flotantes de pescadores, que navegan las aguas poco profundas buscando las 200 especies de peces y las 450 diferentes clases de moluscos. Otra característica de la Bahía de Ha-Long es la abundancia de lagos dentro de las islas de piedra caliza, por ejemplo la isla Dau Be cuenta con seis lagos encerrados. Todos estos lagos en las islas ocupan valles sumergidos dentro del carst fengcong.
