A Baía de Ha-Long é uma extenção de água de aproximadamente 1.500 km, situada ao norte do Vietnam, na província de Quang Ninh. A Baia se extende sobre uma costa de 120 km, mais ou menos uns 1.553 km² com um total de 1969 ilhas de diversos tamanhos e formas. Muitas dessas ilhas são vazias com enormes covas e outras servem de apoio para as casa flutuantes dos pescadores, que navegam em águas rasas, a procura das 200 espécies de peixes e as 450 diferentes espécies de moluscos. Outra das características da Baía de Ha-Long è a quantidade de lagos nas ilhas de pedras calcárias, por exemplo a ilha Dau-Be que possui seis lagos. Todos esses lagos das ilhas são formados nos vales submersos dentro de um carst fencong.
